The University of Chicago has a long tradition of innovative thinking in economics and communicating those ideas to peer professionals and to the general public. Chicago's Booth School continues in this tradition of translating research of consequence into various forms that are thought provoking and end-user friendly. Consider the website Capital Ideas, and in particular the video library that range from talks and roundtable discussions to presentations of research ideas in video-format summary. It seems as if the future of scholarship is tied to this multi-media format that has evolved over the past 20 years. I think it is high time for the school of economic thought that emphasizes entrepreneurship to be a bit more aggressive in communicating serious research of consequence in an entertaining and inviting manner.
