Since there seems to be an increased demand, especially among young aspiring economists, for "new thinking" I'd like to suggest that perhaps some of the books in the series I have been editing for Edward Elgar since the 1990s might be a good source.
You don't have to be a behavioral economist to have new ideas, and you don't have to be heterodox to have compasion for the least advantaged.
