So we all know that Pete is creative, we all know he is photogenic, he has a beautiful golf swing, we all know he is romanic and extremely lucky. But we should never forget that he is just an extremely good economic thinker and clear communicator of economic ideas. Among the best that has come along in a generation or two from an Austrian point of view.
At the recent John Stossel taping on the bailout and stimulus policies, Stossel supposedly claimed that Pete was "a natural" -- an assessment I came to over an intense conversation on Mises methodology over a beer in the heart of Prague in the summer of 2001 a few months prior to Pete entering graduate school. Watch the video linked to above, and you will come to that assessment as well.
Great video. Some of the points Pete makes are, amazingly, being made on Fox News. This six part series is very scary, but also hopeful, because at least some of our ideas are being spoken to the people:

esp part 3 is all about Austrian economics.. I guess "Freedom Watch" is a regular show, I don't know how good it normally is, but this one is worth watching.

His analysis of the current crisis was superb. Wish we had more economists who could state the case for markets so well.
But his argument that pirates are just like other businessmen seems to be confounded by stories like this (in the Telegraph today):
"The body of Malcolm Robertson, the British yachtsman beaten to death and thrown overboard by pirates in Thailand has been found."
Surely the fact that pirates use lethal force makes them different from participants in free markets.
