I'm delighted to announce that I recently accepted an invitation to join the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory at the University of Chicago as visiting faculty for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Becker Center is led by Steve Levitt, Gary Becker, and Kevin Murphy. Its other faculty include John List, Emily Oster, and Jesse Shaprio.
While I'll very much miss Pete B. and my other colleagues at GMU next year, I'm absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to work at this phenomenal institution with such phenomenal economists and am very much looking forward to moving to U. Chicago in the fall.
Congrats, Pete!

Congratulations, and though a very impressive career accomplishment, it does not surprise me in the least that you landed it. I am sure it will be awesome.
More important, will you return to GMU the following year?

Do you happen to know if there are any other Austrians on the payroll at University of Chicago? I am considering applying for grad school there. Obviously, the reputation of the program is second to none, and thus I would be very fortunate to get in and have a degree from there. However, a thick icing on the cake would be to have at least one experienced Austrian to learn from (unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm going to miss your year there, as I plan to work in financial research for at least another year).
Thanks,
Will
