Due to the generous support of the Templeton Foundation our research group at Mercatus (in partnership with IEA and The Free Market Foundation in South Africa) has begun work on 'Enterprise Africa'. Two of our researchers are currently in South Africa, but the plan includes conducting research in 7 countries over the next 2 years.
In the September/October issue of Foreign Policy William Easterly how it could be the case that after over $568 billion in foreign assistance Africa remains trapped in economic stagnation and he provides sound arguments as to why the vast majority of current plans to fix Africa are likely to continue to lead to frustration.
