On last night's highlight show of America's Got Talent, Howard Stern made a brilliant observation. After a segement dealing with the worst auditions for the 2014 season, Stern said -- paraphrasing since I cannot find the exact video clip -- 'you have to wonder if these people really think they have talent. I just get very angry with folks wasting my time. I wonder what would happen if we put a trap door on the stage with alligators underneath and the rule is that if they get 4 X's from the judges the trap door opens and they fall into the pit of alligators. How would that change the auditions? I bet we would see the quality of performances go through the roof.'
The everyday logic of economics is everywhere to be seen if folks would just open their eyes.
